There's a story behind this rod, and as the first 8' three piece 3 weight I built it is one of my favorites. I made it for myself, and had it on the table at a show. A customer who owned one of my 7' 6" three piece 4 weights dropped by to ask me to repair a tip he had broken. He noticed this rod and asked to try it out. When he did, he fell in love with it and wanted to buy it. He took it with him and promised to send me a check. Well that was three or four years ago and I haven't received the check yet! But you know, bamboo rod owners are generally pretty decent people. This is the only instance I have ever had of someone failing to pay for a rod.
